Enterprising Together
Established initially to tackle a significant hurdle faced by smallholder farmers – the volatility of both market demand and raw chilli prices – Kayan Farmer Enterprise has evolved into a privately owned, for-profit company with 102 shareholders. Among these, 78 are smallholder farmers whose products span a spectrum from chilli
(and chilli-related value-added items) to turmeric, spices, curry powders, bamboo shoots, and honey.

Our vision is to be a leading farmer enterprise in Myanmar and offer the best value products to consumers and food processors, while supporting smallholder farmers in the upland Kayan region with a stable market for their chilli farming.
Farming Communities
Situated in Si Bu village, Ahle Kayan village tract, Pekon township, Southern Shan state, our farmers cultivate amidst breathtaking mountains ranging from 900 to 1,500m. With a population of over 100,000, our community thrives, with the majority being the Kayan ethnic group, alongside the Shan, Kayah, Pa-O, and Bama ethnic groups.
Agriculture is our way of life, and our dedicated farmers grow an array of crops, including chilli, black cardamom, turmeric, pigeon peas, rice, and corn. Comprising 409 growers, including 212 women and 197 men, our farms span 202.4 hectares, producing an average of 60 viss (100kg) per acre.

Expanding Facilities
Kayan Farmer Enterprise, owned by smallholders, is dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of our shareholders in production, marketing, and business management, thereby augmenting their earnings through dividends and uplifting the incomes of fellow farmers. Within our state-of-the-art processing facilities, we uphold the highest standards for Myanmar's chilli and spice products, employing advanced methods and contemporary machinery.
